MISSION
Brunswick Public Art's mission is to inspire and promote quality public art that captures the spirit, values, and visions of our diverse community.
BPA was established in 2010 with the goal of enlivening public spaces by placing quality art in locations where our citizens and visitors live and play. Our projects comment on our beautiful natural landscape, dedication to healthy
living, the importance of arts education for our children, and the history of our region. They are all designed and planned with broad community involvement, resulting in art that truly belongs in its location. A wide variety of individuals and groups have participated in our work to date, including many students from our public and parochial schools, Bowdoin College, and Southern Maine Community College. Funding for projects has been largely local, coming from local businesses, private individuals, and foundation grants. We are an all-volunteer, non-funded committee of dedicated arts lovers; over 95% of the funds we raise go directly to projects.
